The EPS packing machine shipped to Germany on June
On 25 June 2024, a YouLi EPS packing machine for block sheets was shipped to RecyTec GmbH in Germany.
What the machine does
Cut EPS sheets leave the cutting line as loose stacks. Someone has to gather them, square them up, wrap them and move them to storage. Done by hand, that is three or four people handling the same sheets the cutting line just produced — often becoming the bottleneck downstream of a fast line.
An EPS packing machine does the same job mechanically: it collates the sheets, compresses the stack lightly, wraps it in film and discharges a unit that can be strapped and moved by forklift. The two results buyers care about are higher packing throughput and lower labour cost per cubic metre.
Why European plants automate packing
In the German and wider European market, insulation board demand is driven by building energy-efficiency regulations, and orders tend to be large and continuous. When a plant is running multiple shifts, manual packing is hard to staff consistently, and inconsistent packing means damaged edges in transit — which for insulation board is a common cause of customer complaints.
Automating the last step is usually the cheapest capacity increase available, because it does not require touching the pre-expander, block mould or cutting line.
Why Chinese EPS machinery is being specified more often
Chinese EPS equipment has become increasingly common in European plants over the last decade. The reason is straightforward: the machine capability needed for standard insulation and packaging production is now mature, and the price-to-performance ratio is difficult to match. What buyers should check is not the origin but the specifics — CE certification for the destination market, availability of spare parts, and whether the supplier will support installation and training.
