EPS geofoam is a lightweight, closed-cell rigid foam used as engineered fill in road construction, bridge abutments, slope stabilization and embankment foundations. It cuts soil weight, reduces settlement and speeds up installation while holding a predictable compressive strength.
From EPS bead to geofoam block
Large geofoam blocks start as pre-expanded EPS beads, which are fused into dense, uniform blocks by a eps block molding machine and then cut to precise dimensions on an EPS cutting line. Density and compressive strength are set at the moulding stage, so each finished block matches the exact bearing requirements of the project.
Why engineers specify EPS geofoam
- Exceptionally light weight reduces load on weak soils and structures
- Predictable compressive strength for load-bearing fill
- Fast, weather-independent installation that cuts construction time
- Closed-cell structure resists water and frost damage
- 100% recyclable and inert
