EPS Foam Recycling Machine: Turn Scrap Foam into Profit
An EPS foam recycling machine recovers the scrap foam your cutting line and shape moulder generate every day. Expanded polystyrene is more than 90% air, so loose scrap is bulky and costly to bin — but it is pure polymer that compacts or densifies into a saleable feedstock. This guide covers the foam-specific recovery routes.
Foam scrap comes from two places
- Cutting offcuts at the cutting line — trim, rejected boards, test cuts
- Shape trim from the shape moulder — gates, runners, rejected parts
Which machine for foam?
Steady, high volume → a densifier (ingot, highest rebate). Moderate volume → a compactor (bale, simpler). Both close the foam loop and cut bead purchase. The broader recycling machine guide compares the two.
Back into your line?
A modest percentage of recovered bead can re-enter block molding; validate the blend first so fusion stays on spec. Most plants recover offcuts for rebate or light reuse — sound economics, not a compromise. Talk to our team.
